Kinja'd!!!

All day all I could think about was getting off work and heading across the river to pick up my new video card. Arrangements were made and money sourced, and my night was going to be nothing but high-framerate fun.

But of course, at the last minute the seller has a personal matter come up. I work a stupid 1200/2100 shift for the next few days, so getting it then will probably be impossible. At least it’s almost my weekend, but still. As always, when it comes to new toys , I WANT THEM NOW!!!

(Delayed gratification is a good thing, right?)

You’re getting a 1070Ti? Nice!

I have a 1070 and am glad I got it right before prices shot up in May of last year. Prices really haven’t quite come down yet and I personally feel the 1070ti is overpriced based on 1080 prices from when I bought my 1070.

Well, this 1070, along with several more, were used in cryptocurrency mining for a few months , but the owner said it was used in a climate-controlled office and never overclocked. The price was dropped from $300 to $250. When I asked why it was relatively cheap he said that he was tired of paying eBay and PayPal fees and would rather avoid that by dealing locally. Yeah, there are some warning signs, but hopefully this stuff is true and I’m getting a decent deal. I’ve only had one video card, a 9800 GT, fail in the last several years, so I have some faith that these things are relatively durable.

I’ve gotten several good deals on CL over the last several years, and most of the sellers I’ve dealt with, like myself, just want to get unused stuff into the hands of people that can use it rather than trying to fund their retirement account. The people trying to sell the same stuff month after month at near retail prices are the ones I tend to avoid. There’s one guy that has been trying for months to sell a basic Lenovo 2-button mouse for $30, never once adjusting his price. Either he’s got a ton of them and a willing supply of suckers or he has no clue what these are worth.

I have a 1060 rn and have been thinking about a 1070 or a 1080 when they’re available

My 670 has served me well for the last 3 years or so, but it’s showing its age. I was actually surprised at how good it is compared to other higher-numbered models (760, 950, 1050,  etc). Not bad for $80, plus I can put it back into my older desktop that can’t use PCIe 3.0 cards.

I just did a cl buy for a Wii U (I’m behind on games, because I suck) and it didn’t come with a charging cord for the pad thing. $7.99 to amazon.

Also the sensor bar cord looks like it was chewed by a cat. So far after 40 minuets the Staten works but dead game pad

Wanker

Reminds me o f a nice 32" TV I got for free years ago  off of FreeCycle from someone that was moving overseas. The power cable needed repair because it had been chewed through by their pet parrot. Surprisingly, the pet did not become an ex-parrot...

Craigslist sellers will never understand what their items are truly worth. I see people trying to sell off items as brand new all the time in the computer parts section, or old GPUs like 600-900 series for 1000 series performance equivalent prices e.g. 680 for price of a new 105 0ti

I ran SLI 670s (Gigabyte Windforce OC) and I NEVER want to do SLI again. Those cards were beast, though, did a damn fine job driving my 2560x1440 display (when the game supported SLI). Loud as hell though; sounded like dueling hair dryers in-game.
